Do you think it's okay to be a no-show at your parents' funeral? |
Since you might have something more important to attend to (i.e. business trip)? people deal with death in many ways, if you cant show because of emotional reasons, then dont force yourself. a funeral is a way to finalize the death and let go, say your respects and move on. if you dont go, you might never be able to let go. If it`s just a business trip and thats the only reason...and you were very close to your parents, i would cancel that trip and do what your parents would have done for you I don't think there's anything more important than a Parent's funeral.... I can't believe this question. But if the business trip is more important to you Go With Peace! Your business trip would be more important than attending your parents funeral? Did you not have a relationship with them? You can go on bereavement and it's legal so your work/job shouldn't be a problem. Why would you ever have something more important to do than attend that? Even if you had a horrible relationship with them, it's your last hoorah and good bye. Unless its a make it or break it deal, no. Id say almost anyone would understand your parents died and funeral. Unless you had a very bad childhood and hated them, be there. Unless you had a bad relationship with your parents I feel that you should attend, no matter your business trip. NO! You can do a business trip later. This is your final good-bye to your parent. You will regret it later and you can't go back and change it. Don't be foolish. No. you will regret it later. Go to your parents funeral. There is nothing more important. Nothing is more important in life then ur parents, because of them u r in this world, they brought u up and made u understand the values of life and funeral is last ritual where u can see them 4 last time and pay respect to them 4 what they have done 4 u in life. Maybe you Can go Sraight After the funeral to the Buiss Trip Are you kidding me "something more important than your parents funeral"? Okay . . . if you are upset at them for some reason, you should go anyways or you will one day regret not going! What kind of relationship did you have with that parent? Since you think the business trip is more important, I would venture to say you were not close. Because it is your parent, most employers allow for bereavement to attend the funeral. Attending a funeral is a way to get closure and make peace after the passing of a loved one. You have to do what you think is best. Most people would say it's rude to chose work over family, but they are not the ones who have to live with the decision, you are. If you think you will regret not going in the future than go, but if it's not that big of a deal then attend the trip. Oh my god, this is so ridiculous, you prefer to go away than being there with your family. Wow wow i cant believe people like you. WHAT? No way, do you even have to think twice about that? that is horrable. its your parents, wouldnt you be sad that they died? How is a business trip more important? That depends on cultural biasing, religious upbringing, and the relationship you had with your parents. From a purely psychological standpoint, I;d say go to the funeral, at least for the closure. FMLA (if you're in the US) covers up to 3 days paid leave for bereavement. We all handle grief differently, and only you can make the decision that's best for you. Weigh the options carefully, though, because you only have the one chance to say goodbye... WHAT KIND OF CHILD ARE U NOT TO GO TO UR PARENT'S FAREWELL HOME YOU SHOULD BE A SHAME I HOPE YOU CANT SLEEP AT NIGHT Never place business above family...how tacky! |
