What is / are the best website(s) offering merchant sites to the public?

What are some of the best sites on the internet for setting up a merchant site for an e-business I'd like to try and get started. The most important factors to me would be monthly rate, the amount of the transaction they get to keep, and the customizability of the site and space they give you. I'm trying to find something with a built in shopping cart yet something that allows me to be as independant and creative as I like.

Anyone have any suggestions?
