Nextels... Why is it?

Why is it that this carrier is supposed to be number one of business nature because of the two-way feature but everyone I know that has one has the crappiest service? Every time I try to call someone I get that same irritating voice; "please hold while the nextel subscriber you are trying to reach is located" and then theres that long pause just to go to the persons voice mail!! Anyone know of any solutions other than switching carriers?!! JEESH

Nextel's service is garbage. They have loaded the network past it's capacity, and still continue to add customers without doing much maintainance(sp?) to the network.

And honestly, most nextel subs will say "well i have problems sometimes, but who doesn't, right?" Honestly, i have been with verizon after a horrible year with Cingular and Nextel and i've had them just a little over a year, use arond 3000 minutes a month total, and i have yet to drop a call or have it garble.. and my phone is guaranteed to ring when someone calls me..

when i had nextel it would hang up and say "Please Try Again" like nothing happened. most nextel customers are brainwashed into thinking they are the coolest people on earth because they have the walkie talkie, and the problem is that most people do not know how to use it, it's all about etiquette.. there's a button on the thing to turn the speaker on the back off so everyone does not hear your conversation.

You know I think I almost have the same problem as you well I hope you have good luck. I would not buy a Nextel because my sis has one and you can't get services anywhere.

I have Nextel, I love Nextel, I have been with them for over 5 years. I have problems sometimes but which phone company doesnt? I get great customer support and great service at the repair centers when something goes wrong with my phone. They fix it or give me a loaner until my phone gets fixed. I rarely get missed calls due to unable to locate me. Maybe its the area your friends live in. I get great service where I live
