Bill and Hillary are already making plans for the White House, is this viewed as confidence or arrogance by?

ORANGEBURG, South Carolina (CNN) 鈥?Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America's reputation by the current president 鈥?Bush's son, George W. Bush.

"Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again," Clinton said in response to a question from a supporter about what his wife's "number one priority" would be as president.

A spokesman for the George H.W. Bush was not immediately available to comment on whether the former president would chip in some diplomatic help after his son leaves office next year.

Clinton and the elder Bush, rivals in the 1992 presidential election, have grown chummy in recent years, often traveling and appearing at public events together. In 2005, they started a charity to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.

UPDATE: The Republican National Committee issued this statement in response to Clinton's comments:

"In 2009, a Republican president will be working with our friends and allies abroad to continue to keep our nation safe," said RNC spokesman Danny Diaz. "The American people expect our leaders 鈥?both current and former 鈥?to present serious solutions to the very real challenges confronting our nation."

Well, they have more furniture to steal. Besides that, they need to start booking the lincoln bedroom.

But everyone's making plans for the White House. The have to. And he was responding to someone's question.

What he said about America cooperating again is crap. She specifically voted against pursuing diplomacy in Iraq before she voted to use military action.

Can anyone say PIPE DREAM? I don't think she has a chance. Her numbers are dropping, and more and more Americans are saying they will not vote for her. Here in NH, people are taking her signs OUT of their own yards.

Any candidate that can not answer that question with specific plans has no business in the whitehouse.

Bill's a liar and always has been. If Hillary elected we will have two presidents.

I think it's okay to have plans such as these, but they come off as arrogant because Hillary and Bill ARE arrogant, that's just how they are. Plus jeez, why do we need more of the same big family? This isn't a crowning, it's an election.

Is that not a healthy sign? One should believe in him/her self. No candidate should enter the fray with out the self confidence. In the event, they are not only wasting their time but that of the nation manifold.

Hillary is doing the right thing. She believes in herself.

Actually, Hillary's first act as president (in the distorted reality in which she dubiously becomes president) would be to divorce Bill. Anyone with a brain has to realize that the only reason she is still with him is because she is using his popularity with the deluded Democrats to get votes. Once in office she will have no more need of him and will dispose of him like the soiled laundry he is.

Plans for the White House--hold on. Her expectations as President are far beyond your examples.
