Business school is CA?

I originally thought looking for colleges wouldn't be too difficult but i realized i have no idea which schools would be right for me. I want to go to a school in CA but i want to apply to schools where i can get a good education but still have time to relax. My current GPA is about a 3.5 but im a junior so i have this year to bring it up. After i graduate im hoping to eventually open a board shop (surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding) in Southern CA, which is why i'd like to go to college there. I'm going to work with my guidance counselor but right now im just looking for some ideas.
Location: California or BC, Canada.
Major: Business

thanks a lot for your help!

PUBLIC: The University of California consists of 9 campuses serving undergraduates. Thus, a bit more specificity is necessary. The "flagship" campuses are UC, Berkeley and UC, Los Angeles (UCLA). Only the latter is in Southern California, but it does not offer an undergraduate degree in "business."

Of the UC campuses in Southern California, I believe that you would find the University of California, Irvine (UCI), to be a good fit. UCI offers a B.A. in Business Administration through its excellent Paul Merage School of Business. UCI is located in Orange County and is only minutes from Newport Beach and the many beach communities to the north and south. Its facilities are excellent; its student services are first-rate; and its cultural offerings and opportunities for social interaction are many and varied. Also, its proximity to Los Angeles is an advantage to upper division students seeking internships and the like.

More information may be obtained from the sources below regarding UCI.

PRIVATE: The University of Southern California (USC) is an excellent institution of higher education. Located in Los Angeles, its Marshall School of Business offers a B.S. in Business Administration, as well as other underdergraduate degrees in business.

USC is ranked amongst the top-tier of national universities. It expects academic excellence; but is nontheless committed to a well-rounded experience for its undergraduates. Its central location in Los Angeles affords students the benefits of a renewed Downtown business district, as well as a short 20-25 mile drive to the Santa Monica and Malibu. USC also has an extensive alumni program. Three-quarters of their alumni live in California and most live in Southern California. This resource is invaluable.

USC has exceptional facilities, including outstanding libraries, computing facilities and recreation venues. Its sports programs are storied, and it provides an active intermural program. Its student services are very good; and its atmosphere is informal and friendly.

More information may be obtained from the sources below regarding USC.

Although I stand behind my recommendations above, I should hasten to add that there are many other excellent universities in Southern California; and I urge you to consider institutions such as Pepperdine University, Occidental College, and the California State University campuses in Long Beach and in Northridge.

Good Luck!

There are a ton of colleges here that offer good Business degrees. Any Cal State would work and is the most affordable option. UCLA is a great school, as is UC Irvine. If you are interested in surfing, you might want to stick close to the beach, in which case, I would recommend Cal State Long Beach, UC Irvine, UCLA or even CSU Santa Barbara, that's north of Los Angeles. Check out www.collegeboard.com... they have a search tool that you can use based on preferred criteria, like location, majors, size, cost, available activities, etc. It's pretty cool and it can help you narrow down your search.
