Throttle broke?

Okay the throttle cord(the little like silver twisty thing) broke on my 41cc gas scooter. i cant take it to where i got it because they went out of business. the local shops don't mess with two cycles. im not going to take it to a shop anyways.

how do i go about fixing this? ((my bro is going to fix i t))

thats a pretty generic question, was it the actual chord, was it the part the chord hooks on to. I hope it wasn't the butterflies. if it was the chord go to a bicycle shop and have them make you a brake cord (dose the same thing on a bike) then just make sure you have the right ends and hook it up, otherwise i dont know
