I have hundreds of books nobody wants, where can I get rid of them

Even the charity shops don't want them. They are pretty bad though. I can't dump them as I am a business and would rather not pay out any money.

every now and then take a couple books and return them to the library in the return slot, even tho they werent the librarys in the 1st place ^_^

1 time i accidentally put my book in and they took like A MONTH to convince them to give it back. so, good luck!

If they are really so bad that you can't sell them or donate them and none of us have convinced you that they might be of some use to someone you need to find out about your local council's recycling policy. Some areas do have book banks run by Oxfam, who could then deal with them, they have 1000 around the country so it might be worth finding out if there is one near you. I don鈥檛 know if you鈥檝e tried offering them btw, maybe a few at a time, to an Oxfam shop, they鈥檙e not as choosy as the other shops in selling books that are a bit shabby looking if they are interesting. If you don鈥檛 have a book bank, you can鈥檛 recycle books in the ordinary paper banks because of the bindings and glue in the spines, but if you were prepared to cut out all the pages you could put these in a paper bank and just chuck the spines!
I imagine you鈥檝e thought of book dealers, they probably wouldn鈥檛 be interested if the books are that useless, and they wouldn鈥檛 give you much, but it could be worth asking.
There are some links and information here I found which might help, including Oxfam and dealers, you can also just search 鈥榖ook recycling鈥?and see if anything else comes up:

Well, if they are molded or so bad they can't be read they should just be thrown out. Could you list the kinds of books they are? You should be able to just drop them off at a local goodwill in bags. Another idea would be to list them on craigslist so someone who is interested can come and get them.

You can try all the above ideas, But a sure fired way to get rid of them is to take them to a recycling center . they will take them and pulverize them and reuse the paper

Donate them to a nursing home

My home town and many like it have a community library (inside the post office) Leave a book, borrow a book, no staff, no sign out, all on the honor system since no money is spent

Take them to your local hospital, they might accept them via the friends league or WVS ,they could sell them or distribute them amoung the wards.

Your local VA hospital. There are a lot of men and women who have a lot of time on their hands while recovering from war injuries who would love to have them. Pax-C

go to the charity shop before it opens in the morning and drop it outside
then its there problem i see people do it all the time

Ebay, Amazon, or any of a number of book swap websites, such as Book Crossing, Book Mooch, Bookins, or Paperback Swap.

Do you have a Bookman's near you? They purchase used books.

Why dont you just recycle them if nobody wants them?

Goodwill won't take them?
Would you like to send them to me?
Or ebay, yes the other answer was right.
