OMG is he going to Propose??

So I am doing laundry and I empty out my boyfriends pockets and I thought I came across his wallet. I dug it out his pocket and found that it was not his wallet but a wallet sized leather folder holding a diamond salespersons business card and an appraisal summary from IGI. Do jewelers generally give out this information when you are shopping for a ring upon request or can this certificate only be obtained through purchase.

If it is what I think it is I am pretty sure it is for me we have been together 7 years. Whether it is for me or not was not my question my question specifically pertains to the certificate and how one goes about obtaining one. Thank you

Hopefully it's yours. Whenever you purchase high end jewelry most shops will give an appraisal sheet that you can use for your insurance, and yes I have stack of them. Be careful with the rest of the laundry, hopefully you dont hear a metal object bouncing around in the dryer.

I'd say the odds look excellent, but I think you should think of any other reason he might have that and assume it's one of those until the moment actually comes. It keeps it a surprise and just in case by some slim chance he has it for any other reason, it keeps you from being really devastated if that's not why he had it.

Don't worry though, I'm about 99% sure that's why he's carrying it.

looks like he is looking or even may have bought the ring!!!!! dont tell him anything you dont want to ruin the surprise for him or for you.he might have something really nice planned. just put it back in the pocket when the laundry is done and act like you never saw it!

Let him know you saw it. It's not like you were snooping, and there's nothing fun about someone pretending to be surprised.

Maybe he couldn't think of a way to pop the question and did this instead. Some guys think that a ring == proposal, and popular culture does nothing to fix this misconception.

I'd say there is going to be some question popping going on real soon! Congrats!! Try not to get too exctied and worked up about it tho b/c you will just drive yourself crazy. As hard as it may be, try not to think about it, if you over process, you wont be as surprised.

well he might, unless of course he knows you've snooped. in that case, he might not for a while.
but the ring might also be for your moms birthday or something,

A solitaire is the classic engagement ring... so congrats will probably be in order soon.

Whatever you do, don't EVER let him know you saw this coming... particularly by doing his laundry. It was innocent, but he may feel spied upon.

Most importantly, he's enjoying the surprise... don't spoil it after the fact or you will deflate his balloon of joy.

Example - my best friend was taking me by car on a long journey to a very expensive and supposedly fun-filled restaurant that she was sure I had never heard of/experienced. Her excitement was tremendous - think kid on Christmas Eve... bouncing off the walls, full of joy.

Ever the CLUE (game) enthusiast, I figured out by the distance and the time of the reservation which restaurant we were going to visit. When I told her where I thought we were going, it was like I slapped her in the face. Sure, she had said to me repeatedly YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHERE WE'RE GOING, NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS, but I realized after I had said it that she was just building suspense.

We ate, had fun, but she was deflated... like a balloon. I'll never do that again! LOL
