We are losing Canada - what can we do?

What has Canada become to? Where is the custom and heritage? Are we converting to China and the other related countries? Why are we so afraid of China that our retailers and similar companies have to meet their demands and requirements? I also immigrated to Canada at an early age and have since acknowledge this country as my home. I am proud to be a Canadian and I am proud of my country. Therefore whenever I see other immigrants populating the country in a large amount and demanding that Canada meet their culture and demands, it demeans and upset us, as Canadian. Why is it that when the immigrants come here, we have to adjust to their culture and when we visit their country we still have to adjust to their culture, is the Canadians so stupid and lost their respect?
Recently I visited Walmart retail store that is located on Hwy 7 and was astonished to see that they have converted every signs in the store to English and Chinese. I have lived in Markham for 15 years. Markham is a multi-culture environment with born Canadians, immigrants from Italian, Greek, Polish, Caribbean, Guyana, Trinidad, China and many other countries who speak different languages. But yet the Walmart has chosen to change their signs to Chinese 鈥?why? Is it that that other people are insignificant, should we all lobby to have Walmart build a store in Markham for each one of us so that we can read the signs. The signs were very upsetting and I would encourage others (non-Chinese) to boycott this store. Walmart has not considered the impact of such behaviour to others, they are sucking up to the Chinese. The Associate at Walmart informed me that the reason they have changed the signs is that the majority of Chinese shop at this Walmart and they are planning another location Scarborough to accommodate the Indian community, so would Walmart start to build locations for each nationality that lives in the GTA so that we can feel welcome and appreciated? Is our dollar not the same quality as of the Chinese鈥檚 dollar?

The Chinese seems to take over and yet we as Canadians are not taking an active role to save our country. I strongly encourage the people of Markham who are not Chinese to boycott this Markham location.

The Chinese already have their own quarters in Chinatown, Richmond Hill, and wherever, please I call upon the Government and real Canadians to stop this nonsense. We as Canadians, should maintain our country heritage, language and customs. I wouldn鈥檛 be surprise if the Chinese population demands that they want to see their language as a second language in Canada. Also, the Government has stressed the importance for companies to maintain a quota of minorities and different culture but yet in the Chinese stores are not meeting this requirement. Their staff is only of their own community and they have extended hours and holidays opening. Also several years ago, SARS broke out in Ontario, who brought it here? But yet we let this all happen, are we scared of the Chinese community that we have to beckon to their call? What has Canada become to. Please, I call upon the non-Chinese (oriental) community to put a stop to this non-sense, we should all feel welcome and appreciated with respect in Canada. Generic stores and companies such as Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes, No-Frills, Chryster Jeep, should all remain generic because their customers are of a multi-culture and they should treat us all with same respect; they need our business to survive.

Canada is multi-culture and I am proud to be in Canada and a Canadian! I call upon the Government, businesses and true Canadians to end this trend! Please let鈥檚 show respect for every nationality 鈥?we are multi-culture and we should be respected!

Signs upset you when you must learn French to become a Canadian

It's the globalist plan to get rid of nation states and Walmart is the biggest supporter of that. What the globalist want is the North American Union which doesn't include China except as a cheap labor force that is used to drive down the wages in America and Canada. What America has in some of their stores are signs in English and Spanish, but they still have English signs, as though illegal Mexicans don't need to learn English and importing their culture and language into the US is OK because the plan is to do away with national sovereignty and borders for Canada the US and Mexico.

I can somewhat sympathize with you. I live in Los Angeles, and I've been in many situations where I felt like I was an outsider in my own country when someone would approach me speaking Spanish - and then act offended because I didn't have the capacity to respond in their language.

At the end of the day though, everything is still fine. For every sign in Chinese, Korean, Spanish or Hebrew there are 2 in English. It doesn't affect my life a great deal in the grand scheme of things.

hey buddy i did not know Chinese people are in Richmond hill too, anyways what can you do i think its better you put this in a letter and send it to immigration office, this may have a better result, Canada is such a vast country thats why the government has allowed so many multi cultural nation to immigrate here the only problem is they don't go to any other place but Toronto and the GTA and Vancouver.

Political correctness and the fear of offending anyone is not only destroying Canada, but it is also taking a major toll on western Europe. This barbaric, derogatory, and dangerous, (Islamic) Sharia law is actually being considered by the British court systems. And in America, one has to "press 1" to get service in English. Soon Americans will have to "press 2" to get service in English. Wonder if such a choice exists in Mexico.

In Quebec the government happily allows anyone to immigrate just as long as they speak French. Soon these Islamic issues will start becoming a major concern there. And in the west, Canada is transforming into China, Vietnam and Korea.

And the problem is that the governments and politicians do not listen to the people that put them in office. Business lobbyists and "their image to the world" is all that counts.

We're becoming like India. Middle class is disappearing. The poor are getting poorer and a few rich people are getting richer. And soon we'll have the issues that India has. Masses of poor people. High crime rate and violence. Hunger, poverty and a few greedy powerful individuals (and large corporations) abusing the masses and controlling everything.

And remeber, Walmart is really a Chinese business. Everything is made in China in that store, even the Canadian and American flags. They pay their employees as if they were working in China. Poor working conditions, ugly messy stores. And Walmart management will actually go to China to visit manufacturing factories to negotiate wages for their abused factory workers. If a factory pays 13 cents an hour, and Walmart wants 12 cents an hour, Walmart will flex its muscle and threaten to buy elsewhere. Walmart is an evil enterprise. But people like you and I want "Low Prices Always" and fill their parking lots - unfortunately.

Here in Los Angeles, you can always find English and Spanish are being used in many chain stores and public services. I don't complain about it, because of the hispanic population are growing, and many of them can't read English.

Therefore, you don't need to be so upset about Chinese is being used in Walmart. When the chinese population is growing in that area while most of them can't read English, Walmart needs to consider from the business point of view to make sure that this large group of customers won't go to buy from other stores.

However, if you are not happy with this situation, you can express your view by writing to the goverenment to see if they would contact Walmart to resolve this issue.
