Specifically what do you not like about shopping in Tescos?

My nearest Tesco is a small Metro store and despite being quite small (had 6 short aisles) it sells loads of expensive organic produce and all the fruit and veg is pre-packed so I cannot choose what I want. Yesterday I needed some olive oil - all they had to offer was "Finest" olive oil infused with garlic/lemon etc. at double the price of basic olive oil.

Grr, plus there is always a queue at the checkout.

This question is aside from all the commercial implications of lots of Tescos stores putting other local shops out of business.

I have used the home delivery service but only for big shops (before Xmas, parties etc). I use the Metro one for odd things I run out of.

PS I do my main shopping twice a week at a medium-sized Somerfields!

I sympathise with you but I have to shop on-line at Tesco as I physically am unable to go out shopping. Without the home delivery service I would find it very difficult to live. Have you considered trying this? There is more choice and no checkout queues either. They probably do affect small local shops, but, provide a much needed service to people like myself.
The only complaint I do have is that sometimes the replacement goods they send if something has sold out, can be more expensive, but, I always have the option of returning them with the driver.

Metros are invariably expensive and poorly stocked (they don't have the Value range for example). My local Nisa is better value and only has three aisles but twice the choice.

I do not like self-service checkouts. People think they understand them and then when they realise they don't, seek help from assistants, which results in service taking longer than the convention check-out, with or without laden trolleys.

I have never even heard of the place.
