I wanted to start a toy making business but I need a shop, and I don't really want it to be a home business. So, how do you purchase a community lot?

Go to the phone and look for an option called "real estate" From there you can purchase a community lot for your business

you have to have a phone or computer and click on it and press community lot and then it say purchase community lot click that

First, you must create the lot (don't worry about putting in all the items first, but you can put up the walls and roofs if wanted to). Then go to the phone or computer and click purchase community lot. It will name an estimate price on the lot so make sure you have enough money (hint: smaller lots are the cheapest and can use as much room you need for your store, but larger ones are expensive and has many spaces you don't want in the future). After you can afford it, go to a car or go call the taxi cab and drive to your community lot. Of course, the manager stays in the store no matter what unless if you want to take a break and go back home. Family members can help you, but their not employees so other Sims you play that goes to his or hers Sim store would have a hard time to restock, tidy up, create toys, be cashier, etc. Go to a phone or computer again to hire employees if you can pay them enough for their skills and badges earned at their prefences. So at first it's a money waster, but keep on working on your skills and badges while assign different job rotations at any point can give you more simoleons than when you started at first.
