Errand Running Business Questions?

I am planning on starting an Errand Running Business. I was wondering if I needed any business permits, or what permits and stuff I need to get so I can do it. with my errand business, i'm going to do stuff like shopping, mowing, yard work, house work, and stuff like that. Thanks for any help you can provide.

i just got an e-mail back and this is what it stated (please help me understand what it means):There are only two filing/registration for a delivery business:

1. Nebraska sales tax registration and information:

If you are doing all the work yourself and don't have any employees. You usually don't need to get any business licenses since legally you'll be a sole proprietorship. Any profits you make will go to you and be taxed as normal income. If you have employees working for you, you'll need to get a FEIN number from the IRS. (FEIN is Federal Employer Id Number, you need this to submit payroll taxes like FICA and SS.)

Depending on where you live, you may need certain business licenses. Also, where we live, there is a huge support system for people wanting to start their own business. Our city offers free business classes every week and all sorts of counseling, etc...-all for free! I think it just depends on exactly what you will be doing. I would look at any books you can find on business as well as the website bizymoms.com I think I saw a listing for that sort of business and it had great advice!
