Which business would work out better, flower shop or gift shop?

please help me!

I own a Floral Shop that also sells gifts... DO BOTH!!!
Many times we put gift items into the flower arrangements.
Also... providing both gives your customers more choices.

i would think a gift shop because you can put flowers in it and double your business

well, which do you like better? i think there are lots of flower shops. if you do a gift shop, make it unique, different from the others. offer special services that others don't. you can even offer plants & flowers in it and you would have the best of both. good luck!!

With a gift shop, you could offer a lot more products such as flowers, balloons, toys, holiday items, present wrapping, etc... and then you wouldn't be so dependent on customers who only need flowers.

Then again, you could do wedding flowers as a specialty flower business and make a lot of $$$. I worked for my friend who owns a wedding floral biz and he works out of his garage so he doesn't even need to rent a shop.

it really depends on a lot of factors like location, cost of rent, etc. etc. Flowers are perishable, though. You might consider that.
