In what year do you expect CD shops will be out of business? |
In what year do you expect CD shops will be out of business? I know this shows my age, but back when I was a kid, we had "record " shops, ...yes, the black vinyl records. Those shops eventually turned into CD shops. Most savvy business people will figure out a way to make money by adapting. They will sell Ipods, different MP3 players, music groups posters/paraphenalia, and so forth. Some might not be able to adapt, but some will. never in 5 years but maybe they will be more specialized like more DVD section, "specialty" music...but you're right. They need to do something. I go to cdnow and have been for a few years. I don't think they will ever be fully gone. many second hand ones have already went under, I think they will start to carry more things like DVD rentals and audiobooks In 2008 or 2012 a company is coming out with a credit card with a hard drive in it the size of a dime that will replace the CD.So we will have to buy new audio equipment again. So when you buy a new song at the music store, you will buy U2's new album on this device that will come in the size of a cassette tape package. It will hold many more songs and will be faster. So in about 5 more years. |
