Wanted: Home Based Business Advice?

My mother and I are considering running a part-time-home-based business to earn a little extra cash. The basis of the business is running errands such as dry cleaning pick up, grocery shopping, mail currier services, etc. What would be the best price to charge for such services and do you have any other suggestions or advice?

You could try Network Marketing, as you would both be meeting and speaking to lots of clients in a day.

This would bring in an 'extra income' over what you and your mother intend to do anyway.

I would say consider gas and mileage to give you a base then time how much is your time worth? will these errand take five,ten,fifteen minutes what happens if you need to wait for things or something is wrong with the order,dry cleaning etc. I would also say you might have a day or time you are in certain areas. Good idea lots of details to work out. I would hire you.

I would see if I could find someone else that's doing that same business in another city. For example, you might search Yahoo Locals for 'errand service' or some other keywords.

You could ask them what they charge, how they got started, any advice. I think most people would help as long as you're not a competitor.

I would suggest that you find busy executives (especially single men). I could see them paying for this service. Try to network as in thinking of people that would know busy executives. You can't really call on a busy executive, but you could be introduced to some. Think about where they hang out and who they hang out with.

What area are you in? I know of a good service referral company that you might be able to use.

For example, I can imagine an executive contacting you and say "I need to hire a plumber to fix my toilet". You would find the best plumber in your area and arrange for them to fix it.
