Can you name 5 careers that one could pursue after age 50,with over 21 years business experience? see details?

this business experience included the vice president partner position of an engineering company, and owner/manager for 20 years of a retail/wholesale furnishings decorations/giftwares
company, part owner of a small shopping plaza,NOTE this person has not worked since the latter part of 1998 since selling their business, and they donot have a college degree.
So can you name 5 or more careers by title/type for such a person?

Actually I do ned more Ideas as I don't believe walgreens pays the type of salary or even fractionally close, nor do the other positions named.
As this person just in their retail/wholesale new & antique furnishings business paid themselves over 75k per year plus all other expences, not to mention at this same time they owned a shopping plaza.
Now their retail business was a small one some 10,000 square feet at the edge of a large metro city.
Perhaps its worth noting this person had some 35 years of award winning community service which gave them an added bit of experience not something one can gain anywhere but thriugh actual experience, then again perhaps all of this experience, and activism later in life are worthless.

1) go into warehouse , manager's positon
2) begin you'r own web site company
3) become the manger at Walgreen's they alway's need higher up's.
4) get interviewed for the airport mangement on fine gift's at the airport store's.
5) open a small boutiue in you'r area, and sell the best vintage, and antuigue's you can find on Ebay.
do you need more idea's???

I do not have titles or types but I can name industries that would work out. Try the County Government or State Government including Transportation, Teaching, and Investigating. Also think about small company sales positions and instructional positions. If you want to take a big risk with a possible big return think about becoming a distributor or working hand in hand with one.

After reviewing your considerable and remarkable professional background in successful enterprises and community achievements, can you tell us what financial planning went into creating a retirement plan after the age of 50. How come you are asking us for new career opportunities, when there is no need to explore such new adventures. You portray yourself as being a very financially successful and savy person with income from a small shopping plaza. Or did we miss something?

Good luck!

Hi,
The position you find yourself in seems to be a very popular place (so to speak) Many newspapers and magazines seem to be dedicating more and more attention to this topic.
It seems that the huge hurdle that the 50+ are facing is not age discrimination, rather"there are fewer positions at the top of the employment pyramid, it typically takes longer to land one," (Russ Jones, a partner with First Transitions, an Oak Brook, Ill., outplacement firm ; article http://www.highpayingjobs.net/myc/fifty/...
My suggestions for jobs are as follows:
1.fulfillment service for eBay (http://pages.ebay.com/education/)
2.consultant or tutor
3. teacher or adjunct professor (http://www.time.com/time/education/artic...
4. a passion of yours and make that into a job
Online places to look for jobs: dice.com, guru.com, ework.com,5o plus jobs (http://50plus.com/) with an online search, you could probrably use your previously held job titles to see what other positions co-incide with it. Use places like Careebuilder for that type of research
