I am trying to start a business selling jewelry.. What is my best stratigy to get noticed?

I make all my jewelry and bead other various things. Everything I make I have many compliments of how beautiful and such. This is an at home business with 4 kids. I have an idea to go to local shops on consignment but not sure how to do this or just start visiting friends and setting up tables at fairs and such. What do you think would be best. I am working on a limited money basis

1. We need to create a brand name and a logo with an appealing appropriate slogan that fits well with the type of business you are in. (ex: if your jewelry are simple communicated this is the logo and slogan if the it is an extravagant jewelry the logo and slogan must reveal this)

2. You need to utilize the power of the word of mouth, motivate your clients to tell other about your business (this is a very effective tool especially with small business) (we might also think about a discount scheme for those who recommend new clients)

3. make a website with appealing high quality visuals of your pieces most important you need to capitalize on the fact the all piece are 鈥渉and made each is a masterpiece that is made with passion鈥?and so in

4. Add a information tag to your pieces with a description of your hand made products and all your contact information

5. Do a clients data base with all details information if possible
(birthdays of client, his wife, kids and so on) the best thing to do this is to hand them a ready made format where they can fill.. the more detailed the better)

6. in future you can tart doing a catalogue

most important communicated that what you are doing is Art and not just another piece of jewelry. This will add a value dimension to your goods

Link up withe the mob and buy some protection. Your competition will be brutalized and harrarrased until they are run out of town.

Good Luck maybe in florida or california, but i tried that u end up with a bunch to much and look at ebay the sterling gemstone u cant make for that...i did consignment , monthly rent to high, flea market on aholiday weekend make 30-80 dollars less cost of gas, supplies, sleeping in sleeping bag to get good spot, packing a sak lunch, couldn't break even w/o kids, how to pay a babysitter on top that...not possible

Run an ad in your local newspaper under the Classifieds section. If you live in a relatively nice neighborhood and the weather is nice, then run it under Yard Sale -- include "jewlery" and "household items."

You'll get a lot of business from those who invest in jewelry and those looking to resell on ebay. Eventually, you'll be generating a lot more income. With this income, invest in other ways to sell jewelry.

Offer to sell some to pawn shops. You don't have to get asking price so long as they price they buy it for is more than what it costs to assemble it.

Ask friends, family, and neighbors if they'd like to "borrow" or give them pieces they can wear out. If they're especially trendy individuals, the jewelry will be great conversation startes: Oh I just LOVE that necklace. Where did you buy it?

Don't try flea markets. They're overrun with people who are selling the same thing but at a cheaper price. You'll only ever see half of the customers that enter the flea market. And from that half, maybe 1 out of 90 are looking for jewelry.

Do try local mom-and-pop novelty stores. Antique stores. Family-owned craft stores. Schedule a business meeting with them. Come with jewelry samples, sale prices, how much commission they'll make, and then an order sheet (which you can create using pretty much any program on your computer from paint, ms works, or ms word.

Feel free to assemble catalogues with your products. You can by glossy paper from any office products store. You can buy any binder from a school supplies store. Add some color and creative flare and then start going door-to-door or hosting parties. Upon hosting parties, take an ad out in the newspaper, require RSVP, and tell them it's a "hosting party" -- in which anyone wanting to join can bring their product (whether it be Avon, Tupperware, carpet cleaners, etc.). You may even want to contact other door-to-ddor salesmen and tell them about this.

If you really want to make THAT into a profit-making thing, when someone calls to inquire, just say there's a cover fee of say . . . 10 dollars . . . to display or advertise a product.

u use the computer daily right........create yourself some flyers and go to the post office and buy the disk that provides certain zip codes that u are focused on and mail them out...that's how we got alot of contracts for starting my sisters and husbands embroidery business..Good luck e-mail me and I'll tell u more or contact your nearest post office and they will fill u in( my sister works for the post office and we do it at least once a year)

Ebay is where I sell my quilts, you are okay with craft fairs and don't think you can't just set up in front of your house like a yard sale. I lost a lot of stuff at consignment shops and they never paid me back. Like 5 quilts that the owner said must have been taken while she was in the back room, and then she said she would have to process it through her insurance and then I kept checking up with her only to her she couldn't pay me and It was too much of a hassel to go to small claims court. With something as small as jewery I wouldn't risk it.

I found a work at home company that is good standing with the Better Business Beaural. I'm with Stayin Home and Lovin It! and they are partnered with a wellness company that is 21 years old. No get rich quick thing, but completely ligit and flexible. I am not a mom, I have physical limitations that prevent me from having a job outside the home, However the woman who brought me to this great oppertunity is a mother of 2 little ones and she loves it and is doing very well at it. There's no selling, no cold calls, no big investment, and no risk. You can not lose anything if you give it a chance. They give great training, tips, and constant support. There is so much information I can't sum it up here.

I still do may quilts on ebay, but I wanted something more that would make a real income. It doesn't make a whole lot in the beginning. A few hundred a month but you have the potental to make a couple thousand a month in time of course.
