Question about a business deal? |
I recently had a paint job done on my car, and the paint shop messed up big time. They re-painted my car, and the owner said he would refund a portion of my money. When I contacted the owner he told me that he sold the shop and to contact the new owner. The new owner is telling me that it's not his responsibility either. How would I find out if the business deal has closed? How long does it usually take for the transaction to be final? You are going to have to pressure the old owner to make it right. If you are trying to figure out who owns the shop check your states web-page and find your county's appraisal district. From there you can find who owns any property right on-line. So put in the questioned properties address and the owner information will come up(along with the tax information on that property)! The deal you had (to have your car repainted correctly) was with the shop, not the person. Thus, I'd assume the new owner does have to repay you, whether he likes it or not, but I'm not sure about this. if there was nothing written then I don't think there's nothing you can do about it, becaue I don't think that the owner is going to pay you, bye If the sale was an Asset Sale (most likely), then the new owner is not liable for anything that was promised by the old owner. You should deal with him directly. |
