Business Boom Ideas?

A friend and I just bought a pizza shop and have just been doing average with it. I would like to do more things to get involved and get our name out there but I need some ideas.
We have our own plaza and the outback is pretty large. We had an alumni eagles player in a few weeks ago with a car wash that gave us some more business but its not enough...so far I've come up with these:

Pet adoption day
Make your own pizza workshop w kids
Skate demos
Sponsering community and charity events
Make t shirts hats key chains more flyers and cards
get on the radio
have someone come in and do an acoustic set on weekends...

any other ideas?

Food is Direct Mails best friend. The response rates for offers on food is consistently higher than most other products.

So, you are in a great position to benefit from using direct mail.

one thing you can bank on....pizza lovers love getting pizza coupons in the mail.

Here are some things to consider.....73% of envelopes get opened...but 99% of post cards get read!.

What you want to accomplish with this medium, is to use it as a way of getting that once a month customer, in 3 or 4 times a month. It is called increasing the buying cycle of your customers. You can easily afford to offer worhtwhile and agressive discounts because you are actually creating food sales from that customer where they would not have otherwise occurred naturally.

You've got to start keeping track of your customers an dwhat they buy.

Set up a fish bowl and have a weekly drawing of business cards for a free pizza...put all those names in a database.

make a survey for customers...ask them how they rate your sauce....ask them other things that could give you insight to improving your company...but...don't just ask.."how is our customer service" ....be more specific "how can we speed up or improve our checkout process"

always give some kind of small incentive for people to take surveys...that is how you get them to actually do it.

It is important to "face the music" and ask tough questions...this is the only way to get to know how people feel about your product and servicecompared to others like yours. I gaurantee you, if you take the initiative on this practice, you will in time position yourself ahead of your competition.

You are right on track with the setting up of activities....and yes...actively seek out other peoples events and take advantage of their traffic....sure you can sponsor events ..but you can also always just give people permission to print a pizza coupon on their admission tickets or some such thing. You are in the food business you have a commodity that is in high demand....pretty much everybody can add value to their event by having an association with you and your product.

You should make a small quanity of business cards for every employee. Not only will this added prestige improve their work, but it will encourage them to "sell" your product, wherever they go. Put offers on the back of those cards, so when they hand them out....those cards initiate business.

so they hand them out to all of their friends....so what....a pizza sale is a pizza sale.

I like the pizza workshop....a variance on that you can also try is...have a pizza creation contest....customers enter ideas for a pizza, and you put the winning idea on the menu for a week.

Good luck.....I'm hungry now...and ya...pizza

First off, you shouldn't be giving away ideas of your own.

Everything sounds good. Why not make a website and let take orders from there?
