I really want to open a small business but not sure what business will suit me best..?

How do i find the best business that will suit me. one idea i had was to open a photo restoration shop for old torn up photographs. But in reality i dont think that could take off. I am pretty good on adobe photoshop and illustrator but im not sure what i can do with that.

Do your homework before you make ANY decision. The first source will give you a criteria on what to look for in a home based business. If you have a business already you can open a second and create a piggy-back business....one that complements the first.

Good Luck!!

find someone who is doing what you are interested in and ask a lot of questions... keep asking and you'll start to have direction and understanding of your next steps.

Start by doing photoshop work on the side. Advertise in small newspapers and in publications that are aimed at older people. State that you can fix up old and damaged photos. A lot of older folks have no computer skills but have a lot of old photos that they would like to have fixed up and be able to share over email. Do it on the side for a while and if it is taking off move to full time.

FIND A BUISSNESS YOUR INTERESTED IN SOMETHING THATS GOING TO BENIFIT U NOT BORE U

I would try to go to work for a company that is in the business I feel that I want to be in. You'll need all of the knowledge and expertise you can get in the field of enterprise you end up in and there is nothing like work experience to help you get there fast.

Ask yourself what else you can do and how you can combine these skills. It may be something obscure, like if your hobby is cars for example. If you combined these two passions you may find a gap in the market...like designing 'paint jobs' for car body shops.

Look for companies that would not necessarily have access to your skills, but that could benefit from them.

It's all about making money! Otherwise call it a hobby.

Are you self disciplined enough to put in 8 or more hours a day? Do you think there are enough people in your area to support your business?

Can you keep separate track of expenditures and sales?

If you're an illustrator, that sounds like a person that could design some type of advertising for other businesses.?.?

Good Luck!

Dear u:

Do the business which has quick turnover. FOr e.g all consumer retail business like stationary, hardware, grocery etc. However do it in different manner. Say for e.g sell stationary of different and unique designs, although keep it in a small quantity.
Invest your money wisely. First step should always be small step.
Try giving some time for job as well. So you may have fix income from one side.
Best of luck!
