What is involved in a title business?

I was curious if anyone has been involve dint he business side of a title and deed business? We have a local guy who runs a place that handles titles, (ie., car titles processing and I am sure hosue deeds and such?) I was cuious what kind of schooling might be needed if any and what it might take to get something like this going. The guy is in bad health and now they are talking like he is closing up shop.

There's a difference between being in the car title pawn business and being in the real estate title research business.

I only know about the real estate title research business. Most title examiners learn from hands-on experience. I say, get with the guy and learn the trade if you are interested in it. It takes a lot of patience and research ability. You must have a keen sense for detail. Money can be made if you have entrepreneurial goals. Good luck!
