Question about opening my own business?

i'm 33 and want to open my own automotive service shop. i've made some bad decision's that messed up my credit and would like to straighten them out so i may borrow some money from a bank so i may get my business started. any help on what i should do????

You can get free help (business plan included) using an organization called the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE). They are just what it says; retired executives who now help up and coming business owners and entrepreneurs develop business plans, find funding/capital and generally guide them through the whole process.

Their website is www.score.org --from there, you can enter your zip code to find your local chapter and someone there will help you from that point on.

Contact the Small Business Admin to see if they have anyone who can look at your particular circumstances. Hey Donald Trumps businesses went bankrupt twice and he still got credit!

First thing to do is get a copy of your credit report from 2-3 different credit bureaus. Then start writing letters and making phone calls to all of the creditors that have made claims against you, explaining your situation. If you still owe them, make arrangements to pay what you can, sometimes they will drop interest rates, or cut the debt in half.
