I want to start my own business, does anyone know a site where I can get info. about how to do this?

I want to start my own business, but I won't really be selling a product, I want to open my own custom shop, but I have no idea on how to go about doing this, or how to get grants to help me get started. PLEASE HELP!!!

These are just some that I got by typing in "small business" in google.com. I used the first three when I started my business. Learn how to search for, and what to search for online. These sites will give you ideas on where to start, and the rest, the other more detailed issues you can search for yourself with google.

Please please please study and read as much as you can about credit cards. You can not be a success these days, in most industries, without accepting them. I have been in the business (merchant payment processing side) for nine and a half years. I try very hard to be an advocate for my merchants, because they are dealing with corporate giants. Most of the fees go back to the card issuing banks. Currently, Visa and MasterCard are nonprofit, regulatory agencies. You heard me! Crazy stuff right! They get $ from the merchants and the card holders. You will really want to look into the definitions of a Chargeback, Retrieval, Interchange, Downgrades, VARs, and "Rules and Regs." I wish you much success. Right here, you've already been told more than most merchants starting out. Go for it! You only live once. This country would be nothing had it not been for our long history of small business men.

Start at the local level . . .

Your local Adult Ed classes may help you learn the necessary steps you will need to know if you were able to get a loan from the bank on your own. The fact is, without a certain level of knowledge how to get a business loan, you will not be successful; without a rich Uncle to hand you money.

So my idea is to learn how to set up a business plan and operate a business like yours before the financial outlay.

THEN DO IT! Don't let others tell you not to! It may not be the easy road, but it will be the most rewarding if you stick to it and don't make bad decisions based on the lack of knowledge without mentor-ship or knowledge of the basics.
