Telling my best friend she was wrong its really not by business though, help?

Ok here's what happend, by best friend has and 11 month old son this will be his first christmas and she lives with her boyfreind he has a 5 year old girl. She is always comlaining that her boyfriend treats his doughter better than their son, but we wnt shopping for black friday (the day after thanksgiving) and she spent most of $400 on their son and only bought the little girl 4 outfits and one toy. her mom gave her the money and said buy for (babys name). Now is it ok for me to speak up and say something to her. This little girl will be there christmas morning and i am affraid she wont have many presents to open and the baby will have tons. please help this is causing me to lose sleep and im affraid it could end our friendship. im completly aginst this kinda behaveior and she know's it seeing's how 2 of my children are step children to my husband. do i confront her or butt out???

the money came from my friends mom, sorry for the confusion and i wanna emphasize that this is my BEST friend almost like a sis!

explain to her how she is doing the same thing that she gets mad at her boyfriend for doing and how she should not be so hypocritical, but do it nicely.If you are her friend then it is your job to tell her when she is doing something wrong.

If it bothers you a lot, tell her what you thought about the whole shopping incident. Don't accuse or anything. Just say, "Is that all you are going to get for ___ (the little girl's name)?" From there take it on and gently put it across to her that she ought to have got more stuff for the girl so she doesn't feel left out or anything. Obviously your friend is not very balanced in her outlook towards children and is biased towards her own son. Do all your confrontations with questions that don't accuse her. If she still acts up and gets angry with you...let her be. Personally I wouldn't bother with friends like this. To keep peace, I'd just say hello and exchange pleasantaries, have small talk once in a great while when I run into people like this. I suggest you do the same. She doesn't come across as a very nice woman. And you seem like someone with a heart and conscience, so what are you doing with this kind of a friend?!

Stop loosing sleep it's none of your business how the two of them raise their children unless there is total neglect or abuse...This isn't a case of either one.
