I have a gift certificate to a shoe store and it's out of business. Am i just screwed?

Got a gift card to a small local shoe store in Columbus from my boyfriend. We went shopping the other day and the store appears to be closed. Phone is disconnected. Is there anyone I can contact about this? I feel bad that he spent a bunch of money and we got nothing out of it.

That happened with a restaurant in Michigan, and some other restaurants started accepting their gift certificates. It is a long shot, but you never know.

I know this question has been resolved, but I live in Columbus and know a little bit about the store. They have a sister store in Austin and an online business. I'd contact the Austin store and see if you can use the cert online! Good luck! Report It

If the store went into bankruptcy you can become one of the creditors. If it just went out of business you will have to find the owner and get your money back. Otherwise sue him.

gone out of business, put the certificate in your scrap book, use it for a book mark it's nor good for much else.

You better check that business is open in another location. Check the business directory to findout the head office phone number or other branches in the same state.
