Ming went to Jenn's shop to buy gift, As he entered the shop, he read a notice that said, "All breakages must be paid for."While reading it,he knocked into a display stand,causing a vase to fall down and break, Jenn demanded payment. I believe this is a contract...Jenn is letting Ming (and anyone else) come into the store, but with the understanding (as posted on the sign) that all breakages must be paid for. The language is a little vauge, but I believe she can enforce it. Advise Jenny to make an insurance claim. The question really is was it a Ming vase? Technically the vase is Jenny's property. If anyone damaged our properties, we could make a small claim (for value less than S$10,000) if the person refuse to make compensation. |
