Business and finance?

the revenue for a sandwich shop is directly proportional to its advertising budget. when the owner spent $2000 a month on advertising, the revenue was $120,000. if the revenue is now $180,000, how much is the owner spending on advertising?
so would i figure x%of 120,000=2000 then add that percentage to 180,000?
any advice would be helpful
thanks

Thats exactly it. Directly proportional means there is an existing relationship. Whatever percentage 2,000/120,000 gives you, should then be taken and multiplied times 180,000. In this case, it is 3000.

I believe you would multiply the percentage to 180,000.

Basically it's like this:

2,000/120,000 = x/180,000
