Webmasters! Huge website will need to show videos. What do I need to look for?

We are a starting a new branch of our existing business (film company & creative agency) which will require a website capable of showing unlimited videos. It won't be so much at first, but we expect it to grow and need the website capabilities to be increased as our requirements increase. For the sake of argument, lets say it could grow to "you tube" proportions. What kind of capabilities are we looking at here? Bandwith, storage, memory, etc. We will have to hire a webmaster at least to set it up (and probably to be on some sort of a retainer), but I need to understand as much as possible so I can research web hosts. Can you start with what you need then contract for more space as you need it? Any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have read the other similar questions and answers on yahoo, but if you have a specific recommendation for a web host that fits these requirements, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks for your help.
