Was this rude ? Why would someone do this?

I am currently fund raising for a local charity that helps those with a neurological disorder. My spouse has this disease.. and everyone around us know this. I am working my tail off trying to raise $2500 before the end of August and I am trying everything known to to do this.

I am hosting an event at a local restaurant. I did he evite method that sent everyone in my email addresse book an invite.

One person who I am associated with through a group got one of these. Knowing all there is to know about my situation. he emailed me back and said..

Please do not email me unless it's group business this includes this spam. Thank you

I emailed him back and said to him... your invite was unintentional most definately. didn't apologize or sign it.

Was he just being and assssss? I hope he doesn't wake up one morning not being able to walk like my husband did. he may feel differently.

The evite clearly states..You are invited by Bailey Simmsss in the subject line. It is clear it is not a joke or a forward.. This man was just being rude.. instead of deleteing it he had to put some meaness into it. I feel like telling him, I hope you don't wake up one day unable to walk.

I personally feel his response was rude because he is familiar with your situation...it's not like he was a stranger.
In addition to that, he could have handled it better by just not responding if he were so offended that you sent him "spam". I think he meant to be rude. I don't think there is a need for you to respond to him in regards to hoping he wont wake up one morning and not be able to walk. He probably wouldn't care, therefore you would be wasting time..and you need all of your energy to focus on your family needs.
I have come to realize that there are more folks in society that care more about what is playing on TV than real issues that can effect their lives or those of someone they deeply care for.
If you have a donation website, please forward it to me..I would love to help.
Good luck to you.

I don't want to offend you and your situation, and I absolutly don't want to defend him, BUT I can see how he might send this reply to you. He probably thought that you e-mail account had been phished and this WAS actually a junk e-mail. So he kept it simple (and maybe a little rude.) to keep himself safe.

If your not that close to him don't worry about anymore corispondense with him. If you would like to clear it up, send him a personal e-mail explaining the situation.

Hope this helps, and I hope the best for you and husband.

I get spam all of the time and simply ignore it. I think that most people can do the same. I am sorry about his reply. I think it was very rude and unsimpathetic. You were asking him for help. If he did not want to participate he could have just deleted it. Even if he did suspect it was a joke, it occurs to me to delete it rather than risk hurting a sincere person.

Unfortunately I think that this person must get a huge amount of those joke emails and such from his friends and families, so you got the email back. I am sure that he wasn't meaning to be rude intentionally - he may very well have just thought that it was some email forwarded forwarded forwarded to him.

I know why! I bet you sent him this invite *multiple* times, just like you have posted this question *multiple* times! It's spam either way!

Sounds like an *** to me.

Sweetie, kudos for your efforts! :O)

Unfortunately, you gotsa try and put yourself in HIS shoes, even though he is not giving you the same courtesy. *sigh*

Every single one of us gets inundated with forwards (which we have seen over, and over!) and spam from companies for no apparent reason. While it is simple to just hit "DELETE" it does get on everyone's nerves at some point and time.

Add to the equation, you sent it through a group mailing, apparently that was forum or topic specific. Which is typically a violation of rules for most anyway...but this guy just turned postal on ya'...maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he is just a jerk? :O)

Just do not let it rain on your parade and the efforts you are making! Good luck, sweetie! :O)
