Is Yahoo! web hosting a good choice for someone new to web design?

It looks quite good because they link you to Google & Yahoo automatically and you can upload audio & video etc - has anyone tried it - its pricier than other options, but is it worth it? I've not had a website before and would need it for business purposes/publicity for music.

Do your own website using NVU, NVU is free to download and I taught myself. I did my own website for free! It is easy to submit your site to Yahoo and Google, I did it myself, instructions are available on the internet.

No, Yahoo hosting adds code to the bottom of your pages that makes them break coding specifications (and to top it all off, it's a tracking script). I'd recommend against using them as your host.

If you're looking for online website creation tools, you could try using a bigger company to host, like 1&1 or GoDaddy, but really no automated website creation tool is going to get you a website as good as a standards-based site that's made by a professional.

If you want a simple site you may be able to get away with their hosting. I hosted with them for about 2 years. Then I started learning some new coding and found out that Yahoo wouldn't support many of the codes I needed to use.

Their page builder is quite nice if you know absolutely nothing about HTML. They have a drag and drop feature and even my 6 year old can make nice looking webpages. If all you want to do is say "here's the band and some pictures and a few things we'd like to say".... then Yahoo will be fine for you.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

Why related web design with hosting company ?
Even if the hosting company provide free template or html editor, I don't think you should base on this to decide which hosting company to choose. This is not the main factor to choose a hosting company.

I don't suggest you to host in Yahoo unless you are using their store features.
