How much space should i buy when looking for a webhost?(for a small business)?

I am making a website for a small dance studio, and I was wonderin how much web space would be suitable... I was looking at packages here... what one would be best???
http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/Hosting...

This package gives you 15000 MB Data Storage http://www.JuicyHosting.com and is the best deal

get the $2.99 you don't need that much space. My gosh 10GB. Whew, that is a lot of Gigs.

You will find many discussions of web host comparisons at www.webhostingtalk.com

Some of the discussions are very technical...so be prepared...

The general advice, too, is to use a separate company to *register* your domain name (which costs like say $6.95 per year or less) and a *different* company to do your hosting (which will likely be purdy cheap, too, like say $8.95 per month plus or minus).

I am very happy with A Small Orange (www.aso.com) for hosting.

www.yahoo.com is also *very* good ($12 per month, and they throw in a domain name registration for free). They are very courteous with phone support. I have sent many of my clients there. (I'm a website developer.)

Even with their *least expensive* packages most of these should give you quite enough space.

I'd also have to say the 2.99 one would be plenty. I use less storage space than that and have almost 8,500 products on the site with images that enlarge as well. 10 Gb would be way more than enough for a small business.

Well .... The 2.99 package is perfect. It even more than perfect ! 10 gigs are more than enough. Using vector graphics you won`t even need a quarter or this memory.
Maybe you could find some more offers. 10 gigs are wa too much. Maybe you can find sth less expensive. For a small dance studio website you`ll need less than 1 Gb. Try some free offers with less memory. That way you`ll save some money and you might use it for your studio, or for web advertising.

I hope I helped you! Goodluck with the web site and the studio !

Depending on the business, you probably don't need to be concerned with space as much as bandwidth. Your site may only take up less than 50 megs of space, but the traffic you get may end up using several gigs of bandwidth.

I've hear horror stories of 1and1, but that's typical with any host. If you visit Webhostingtalk, you'll find out that every webhosing company is terrible, and non of them are worth using...yet everyone has a web site....

I host sites myself at http://www.afterbeing.com Yes, there are downtimes but they are kep to a minimal. Everyone has downtime. Never trust a host who tells you otherwise.

But, the best answer I have is to not pay attention to space as much as bandwidth. Your visitations are what will be the biggest consumer of resources to you.

I think the second package is just right for you($3.74), then you won't have to worry about anything especailly if you gonna drive alot of visitor to your site and all.(regarding bandwidth which can be frustrating to deal if your site go down for like 2days). 10 GB is nothing when you start uploading and growning your site, eventhought now you may think it 's gonna be small s ite. I have run into the probem with my site before. Wish you the best of luck for your business!

I highly recommend dreamhost http://dreamhost.pinologic.com
