I am looking for a cheap home web server.?

i am starting a web hosting business, but i want to have my own personal server located in my house. what would the best and cheapest server to purchase be?

Check HP and DELL. They sell servers that are relatively inexpensive.

Word of advice, web hosting is already a saturated market. Unless you can charge less than $5 per month, provide 1 or 2 GB of drive space, and have a server availability of 99.99%, I suggest looking into another business.

thats not such a good idea, but if you really want to, try dells, they are very reliable.

not really related, but just a warning in case u didn't know about this. Most regular ISP will not allow you to host a web server from your house. In fact they even block port 80 (which is the default port for the HTTP protocol). You will probably need a tier 1 or tier 2 connection if you want to host anything (or otherwise configure your web server to use another port, but in which case will force the users to type in their url as "www.url.com:portnumber" to connect to the server).

The guy above mentioned Dell, they are decent, but i can't say good, but they are definitively cheap.
