If you were ahead of a successful business, what would you look to gain from sponsoring a musical event?

We are holding a local artist show at the Cincinnati Music Hall in Spring 07 (April), showcasing Cincinnati鈥檚 most talented artist while also showcasing the talent Cincinnati has in the fashion industry. The show will be titled 鈥淐incinnati Rips the Mic鈥?& Runway鈥? and will include performances by local Hip-Hop & R&B acts, while models and dancers perform onstage with artists. This will provide an avenue of exposure, experience and success for the local talent, while opening doors for Cincinnati鈥檚 entertainment industry. Overall, this even will promote a non-violent environment and half of its proceeds will go to the Cease Fire Organization, in hopes to bring awareness to the excessive violent acts in our community. With music, fashion and art, we plan to show our city and neighbors that we can host events as such without someone losing their life, and give hope to the young and talented

First let me say that this sounds like it will be an awesome event. I think a great source for you would be Gen Art. They are always producing similar events and I'm sure would not mind you bending their ear about how they sollicit sponsorship. Remember your target would be businesses that cater to young people who like music and fashion. Target those businesses that are already advertising on MTV, BET, VH1, etc. Good LUCK!!!

Exposure, exposure, exposure...the best advertising money can buy, yet the most obvious benefit, of course, would be the good-will you are extending to the community. And where would we all be without the work of talented artists? Your event sounds very, very cool. Best of luck to you!
