Do you know anything about being a band manager?

I just got this job today to be a band manager, and I have no idea what I am doing! I'm supposed to be able to promote the band/concert, get businesses to host the concerts, pay the band, etc.

I know I can figure it out, eventually, but if anyone has any tips or information that they would like to share about being a band manager, I would LOVE to hear about it.

One thing you need to do is check out local radio stations and call them to see if they'll play your music. College stations are the best for this, depending on your band's sound. Having experience in college radio, I can tell you that you don't need to be on a major label (or even a large indie label) to get radio airplay.
