How do I decompress zip and tar files uploaded to my Yahoo! hosted server space?

I have been unzipping on my desktop then FTPing the folders/files to my web space (hosted by Yahoo! Small Business). Seems like there must be a better way.

unless you have remote control of your host machine (which you probably dont) this is the only way. yea it kind of sucks, but thats the way it works.
