Best host/everything else for website??

Hi,
I'm looking to get a website and some people say www.godaddy.com hosts them or something and other sites. Wondering what would be a good host? Web designer? etc.?
domain name???
where can I purchase a website?
just curious...
i'm getting it today anyway but i'd like to know more about it. first time starter here!

its not a business site, more of a 'my life site'
like on www.joshhutcherson.com, how do they design those things?
thanks =D

Get a domain at http://www.LocoDomains.com
Get hosting at http://www.JuicyHosting.com
and a template at http://www.web-site-templates.biz
And you have a web site

I would go with ixwebhosting.com

Theyre pricing and plans are very suitable for your needs.

Go with a blog for your life site.

well, if you're planning on a "my life site", maybe you can start by getting one of those blog sites that allow you to customize your domain name... i'm pretty sure there are, but i'm not familiar with them...

but if you're like me... you'll get a very good deal for a small price at http://www.jodohost.com. they give a good deal, lots of supported features and technologies for a small price. they provide great support too. they also have tools to help you start your own website. for your domain, once you've bought your own hosting, you can buy your domain from http://www.namecheap.com, the price is relatively ok for a yearly payment. Yahoo also allow you to buy domains, just compare the prices and features you'd want.

for web designer, nothing beats free tools, so you can learn HTML and all that web design stuff, and use the trusty notepad. or some hosting (like Jodohost provide tools which can help)....

for personal use I recommend http://pages.google.com/
It's free and very nice user interface

Since it's a 'my life site', you'll probably want a free hoster. I used sitesled for a long time, they are really good and only have 1 add at the bottom.
Domain names, I would say godaddy.com unless yahoo has a special still.
As for building a website, I can do that. If you're interested, check out digitaldoodlebug.com

You may not want to go for free hosting which are usually poor in quality. Consider paid ones.

There are quite a few good reliable webhosting like yahoo, hostmonster, ixhost, bluehost and ipower etc... They got their own strength like webspace, bandwidth etc...

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.
