What would I need?....? |
I'd like to create a website where you can watch a video that last approx. 2.5 to 3 hours each. To start, this site would have about 500 videos to choose from. That would quickly expand by adding an additional 256 or so of these videos on it. Am I gonna need servers or what? I don't know much about setting up something like this. Its for a business idea I have. Would it be better to just have it hosted? You'd just need to get a huge hosting plan.. You can't really set up your own servers, because when your internet goes down, the server goes down. Plus the bandwidth issue, to watch a video that long, the other user would download it into there temporary internet files, after a few users, you'd be using loads of bandwidth... Your ISP would cancel you. The problem is that sites which host large amounts of video, are usually shut down by the RIAA. |

I had a website hosted by GoDaddy.com. They are very reliable but their tech support lacks a bit. Their prices are pretty competitive. Overall it was on OK experience. I have since switched to ... Sound like your server is just serving a network authentication purpose (unless it also acting as your email server). If you are spending that much to keep it running and that is all you use it for... You could try advertising on Craigslist.org Put up some flyers in your local grocery stores, flower shops, tailors/seamstresses, coffee shops, and bridal boutiques. Maybe an ad in the local... you can arrange for short magic shows ,art &craft demonstrations ,easy cookery for kids,sometimes discussions on interesting topics ,etc and then have yummy menu with tea .change menu everytime... |
