What should I do about my catty coworker? |
Brittney is this girl I work with and not many people like her cause she's always keeping stuff stirred up. Well she usually goes to lunch with chinita, nicky, and I at 12 every day. Well this past thursday I overheard her making lunch plans with kim. So I decided to get chinita and nicky and we clocked out early at 11 and didn't ask brittney to go with us. Cause like I said, I heard her making plans with kim. Well we went outside to the back parking lot to smoke on our lunch break, and shortly after kim and brittney came out and they drove ALL the way to the back parking lot to drive past us just so that we would know they saw us. When we got back, kim and brittney were talking crap saying I feel like I'm in school again people playing games, and said this one particular person always goes at 12 (me) and now all of a sudden she clocks out at 11 and doesn't tell anyone. Well that pissed me off and I stood up and said, "when I take my lunch, and who I go with is no one's business. I don't have to consult a freakin committee and if one more person says something about it i'm going to GO OFF!" Well they didn't say anything else. I don't know why brittney was mad she already had lunch plans. She's just pissed cause we didn't ask her to go with us even though she would have said no. Which I think is childish. Just last friday she went to lunch with paige, didn't ask me if I wanted anything, didn't invite me, and didn't even tell me she was going, but did I say anything? no. Then again monday she clocked out early to go get lunch for herself, did she tell us? or invite us? No. So it's okay for her to come and go as she pleases and not tell anyone, but if we do it? it's world war three. Well my boss things I should just talk to her about it however I just don't want to be around her cause I'm afraid i'll loose my temper. What should I do? Just let it go. Go as it go's This sounds like middle school games. If you're in the workforce, then I take it you're an adult (or on your way to being one). Just get over it. If she never talks to you again, who cares? Does your existence depend on her going to lunch with you? I doubt it. Pick your battles, before all of you get fired for your petty games. I'd like to know what kind of a company employs 13 year olds! Seriously is this a work place or high school?! GROW UP! |
