Reimburesed expenses for Small Business LLC - ignore or record as revenue? |
We own a multiple owner LLC that does consulting and we received several payments that included both earned revenues as well as expense reimbursements from clients. What should I record as revenues? I of course sent all the receipts of the expenses to the clients, so I do not have records of those any more. I appreciate your input on this. ALL receipts go on the Gross Receipts line. Any expenses are listed on the appropriate lines. There's no such thing as "reimbursed expenses" on a business tax return. You're welcome. TFTP. Report It A reimbursed expense is not income/revenue. If it's a 1 to 1 reimbursement of expenses you incurred on behalf of a client, offset expenses. I |
