Interview attire question...?

I received an email confirming my interview with a consulting firm. In the email the lady wrote "Day-to-day dress at 'blank' is business casual so please feel free to wear interview attire which allows you to feel comfortable and confident." I know they always say it is always best to wear a suit, but do you think I could go in nice business casual attire?

You can never go wrong in a suit. It will be expected that you will be more formal than the other people at the office. My boyfriend interviewed for a job in a suit a few weeks ago even though the HR person told him it would not be necessary. Virtually every other person he saw was in a suit as well. He would have been embarrassingly under-dressed if he hadn't worn a suit.

In fact, in my own office our head of marketing said when she interviewed a good candidate that she was underwhelmed by his dress and in the end it cost him the job. You want to look like you've made a sincere effort to look good and that you are willing to go the extra mile in your dress. It will help them to establish weather or not you would go that extra mile in your job performance.

Yes. One of the best outfits is a navy blue blazer, white or blue button-down shirt, red print tie, and tan slacks with tan socks and brown leather oxfords.
