Am I crazy to give up this job?

So I have my dream job.....or so I thought. I've always wanted to work in Marketing for a top tier investment bank and travel the country on business. And here I am, a Marketing Manager for Morgan Stanley in Manhattan...My dream job. I worked so hard to get here, and now its been a few years and I want nothing more than to quit my job and work from home.

My husband and I are starting a family and I want to stay at home with the kids, while still having some type of career.

So my plan was to start my own Marketing Consulting business, where I can set my own scheudle. I know the firm that I currently work for would add me to their vendor list.

What do you think? Is this career suicide or a viable idea?

Go for it.. I started off trying to do what I thought was my dream job. I wanted to become a web designer but I didnt want to spend all that time in school so I decided to teach myself and here I am ... I have been doing my own web design from home for the last 3 years!! I hope you have a great career and I hope it all works out for you! GO FOR IT!!

no absolutely not,, a job can be replaced what you will be doing is only there once,, do realize though that if your income is needed that you will be taking on a large difficult responsibility,, you will have to motivate yourself,, and you may not have a support team to help with the difficult-- self employed- times,, most jobs/Bose's know how to motivate.
