I am going to be opening a sole proprietor bridal consulting business. Anyone have useful advice or tips?

I am taking a bridal consulting course and I am almost done it. I was told that asking successful business owners for their tips, would be a good idea. So if any successful business owners are out there, I would appreciate it if you could take the time to share with me, your experiences, advice, and problems that you may have overcome. Better yet, if you are a sole proprietor, or a bridal consultant yourself, I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for your time.

I arranged a lot of wedding flowers for a florist that worked closely with wedding/bridal consults. Often the consultant didn't deal with the flower aspect which is a huge part of any wedding. So I recommend that you align yourself with a great imaginative & creative florist. Perhaps even sitting down with the bride & the florist together, [after arranging with the florist that they give you the price, not the bride]; that way you can do a mark-up. Cascading White Lilly boquets and orchid corsages add a touch of elegance to any wedding. Till death do we part.

You are the competition, you won't get tips on how to diminish my business thanks.

Get a good bookkeeper! Find someone that can give you good advice on how to set up your business, pay yourself and deal with the tax system ...don't assume that you can do it just because you want to . Put your time and efforts into what you are good at and find good people to help in the fields you are less familiar with.
I've been a bookkeeper for 25 years and one of the big mistakes entrepreneur make is think that the bookkeeping side of their business is not important...wrong....It is not all to make money...once it is made, you have to know what to do with it otherwise you will have done all this work for nothing.
Good Luck with your new career !
