Need past employer that went out of business to say i worked for them?

i am trying to get another job and one of my past employers went out of business and i have no number to put on my applications for them to call my past employer to verify i worked for him. what do i do?

I have clients with a similar problem and I provide them with a copy of their past W-2 forms from the company and have them write a note explaining that the company is no longer in business.

Just put on the application that they are no longer in business.
