Look below to see my question thank you?

hello i need help right say like if a northern rail application form was in front of you and in 1 of the parts of the application from it say's educational technical and professional qualifications please name any institute or professional body in full and include attinment level. What sort of phrases/sentence's would you put and another part is for Personal Development include any courses, membership, voluntary work or responsibilitie's you consider relevant, with outcomes where applicable what sort of sentence's/phrases would you put there.

Let me give you a piece of advice being that I do the hiring and interviewing for my partner's Security Company.

Giving your interviewer "Lip Service" and trying to speak above your education level is the biggest mistake you can ever make in your interview.

Honesty is what gets you hired in most large companies. If you are claiming things on your application or resume that are not true, when HR does their background checks you are automatically terminated. There will be no appealing that fact.

Be honest about your education and list any acheivements you have received. Especially if they are related to the field you are applying for. Check your spelling and grammar for correctness and accuracy.

The part of the application I have found the most errors with are normally the Dates of Hire and Dates of Seperation. Here is a key. If you know the month, just put the month and year you know you got hired. Don't worry about the "day". Same is said for the Seperation Date. If you know the month and year, that is all that is necessary.

As an interviewer I always look at the "Off The Job Activities" that a person has placed on their application. I base many of my questions on that information. Mainly because I want to see if you are telling the truth about yourself. I rarely ask about education. I can get that information directly from the source you provided, and compare it against what you claim.

At any interview, you should always show up with an original copy of your DMV Record. If my applicants show up without that document, their interview is terminated. Basically, they don't get hired. Why?

Because they obviously cannot listen to instructions and follow them.

Write your expereinces in your own words, and as an interviewer, I want to see your handwriting skills, so you would be told to fill out your application with your own handwriting. If I cannot read your application, this is an automatic disqualification in our company.

Reason?

We have to be able to read your incident reports and patrol reports.

Now since most of the railroads have their application process done on line, then by default the applications are type written. Nevertheless, if they have mailed any forms to you to be filled out, do this in your own handwriting; just take your time and be neat.

Clothing has been an issue of late with our hiring process. If you have the image of Gang Related Activities, that is how you are going to be viewed. Loose the baggy pants, unshaven face, bling-bling on the teeth, ear-rings, pircings on your face, (anywhere), rings on every finger, and the dreadlocks. If you have tatoos, then its long sleeves for you to that inverview, clean finger nails and nice clothes go along way to making the first impression be your absolute best.

I am not saying that you must show up in a coat and tie. But a nice pair of Dockers, and a Polo Shirt with a plain white T-Shirt, and a pair of black leather shoes makes the grade in most cases. Its called casual but sharp.

If you do have a mustache or beard, then make sure that it is trimmed neatly and well kept.

If you have done any job relevant voluntary work, then by all means document it, and supply the name of your supervisor.

Basically, when you provide any information about yourself, make certain it is completely verifyable. If you have had any issues with Law Enforcement, (even if they are totally resolved), be honest about them. Yes this may deny certain types of jobs, but depending on the employer and their options that are open to them, you may get the position regardless of your past.

Why?

Because you were open and honest about it during your interviewing process.

Just and FYI: In our company those folks who have certain Misdomeanors cannot be concidered for Armed Postions within our company. Applicants who have a Felony of any kind, we cannot hire. Unfortunately that is a State Law in California for Security Companies, so there is nothing we can do.

In any event, just put your best foot forward. As my Grandfather told me many moons ago. "You may only have a buck or two to your name. But, there is no reason that you should go into a meeting looking like anything less than a Million Bucks."

I hope that helps.

Put in those educational and professional qualifications you have - nothing more, nothing less. Same for courses, voluntary work etc. But how long have you been completing this form. It seems like 6 months that we have been answering questions about it. And you still can't title your questions properly, although you have been asked to do so on many occasions.

Just be honest. They care about honesty a heck of a lot more than they care about how high-falootin' your qualifications are.

If Britain is anything like the USA, they need train drivers bad.
