I just started using Visual Studio 2008, found an option to develop apps on .NET framework 2.0.?

In visual studio 2008 I found an option to develop applications using .NET Framework 2.0. If this is possible, that is developing applications using .NET 2.0 then is Visual Studio 2005 required.
I'm using C# for both Desktop and Web development.

No you don't need 2005. Are you also using Visual Web Developer? #.5 is the newest but I dont think Express editions can use Framework 3.5 ...though I maybe wrong
