I know core java and jdbc of j2ee. what else i need to know for latest standard?

I know Core JAVA and JDBC from J2EE and had done projects on them. I have 6 years of programming experience on application and web development for Govt Of India. What other parts of JAVA should I learn to match myself with the latest industry standard?

if you are interested in java you can proceed j2ee.
like JSP,servlet,ejb,stuts ect
u can also lern the java mail api,web services,JMS,JMF,ect

Now Struts.Hybernate, Spring are in high demand..once you are comfortable with JSP,Servlet,JDBC better to go for them.And also XML,JMS if possible. If you are searching for a job in java technologies then better to have some backend knowledge alo like oracle or SQL server Report It

Another language is also coming up and thats C#, VB, .NET programming.
