I am Sanjeev . I am very much confused regarding my carrier options. Please give me your valuable suggestion.
My education is:
Matric 1992 79%
3yr diploma in mechanical engineering 1995 74% with honour
1yr diploma in computer application ` 1996 76%
English speaking course 1997 good
My experience is:
After doing diploma I did not try for any job because of our home business of retail shop of kitchen utencils . I gave my full intention to shop with my elder brother .But now even after more than 10 yrs. I am not satisfied with my proffession .I have very much creative mind . If given proper guidance I can also develop new improved designs of many products.I was topper in my collage and my drawing was very good in engineering .I have deep interest in challenges to new innovations.But in shop my all talent is waistfull. Now I am married and I fear to give a big shock to my carrier.I am afraid that if I will shift my carrier at this age I will be in big trouble to survive because it is too late. My wife is a govt. teacher .So it is not possible for me to shift my family at too far place to get a new job.I also give tution of English speaking in part time only.
My interests are:
1. I like creative works.
2. I like new design development of mechanical products.
3. I like the logics of programming in computer.
4. I like to make big business deal like wholesale than retailing .
5. I like to be truthfull and honest througout the life.
6. I have read many personality books of indian and foreign authors.
7. I like to work hard
My deficiencies are:
1. I am of shying nature and less social but like to be truthfull and simple.
2. I am confused presently to what to do and what not to do?
3. I am regretting of my past decisions to join the home business than to join a mechanical job.
4. Because of less satisfaction in carrier ,I remain depressed
My questions are:
1. Should I try to join a mechanical job ?
2. Should I change my field from mechanical to something else, which is easily adoptable for me and which is economically sound field?
3. should I try to go foreign country ?
4. if yes, In which country I should try to go and how should I try?
5. Should I join partime distance education in Punjab Technical University learning center which is offering me the admission in 2nd year in BSc.(IT),for my graduation part time .I can proceed further for MBA or MCA . But it will consume 2 yrs for graduation and 2 or 3 yrs. For master digree , which will be too late.
6. Should I do any other education course which can make my carrier and give my creativity and economical condition, a good direction ?
7. should I not change my carrier from my shop. Because If I will leave my shop then I will lose the readymade medium level business opportunity?
8. I want to live a luxury life like every one but I am also ready to work hard with my brain and physical efforts , provided I am asured that the direction in which I am working will lead me to the prosperity and happiness now or later.
9. I have logical powerfull brain gifted by God , so should I go in programming field in computer? And how shoud I go in this field?
10. should I try to do whole sale from my shop of same or other products? but for that I have to invest a lot in credit in the market.
11. should I try to get job in kitchen utencils company in marketing section so that I can start my own business to in same area and network?
12. should I learn any special art of business or manufaturing so that I can start my own business in near future?
13. I don鈥檛 know what to do ? where to go for help and guidance ? from where to start my carrier search ? what is best suitable for me ? what is my actual field of interest?
14. I have very much interest in understanding life in spiritual and religional aspect , can it help me in any way?
15. where else should I ask these questions? why look...... from your percentages and interests review you seems to be talented and intelligent.since you have already wasted you ten years instead of doing something fruit full.
Moreover,you are not comfortable with moving from your current place of residence.
I would suggest you rather than going for any part-time courses you are thinking of, go for some part time job(which in some ways enhances your skills) just to overcome you from all negative thinking,and attitude towards yourself like shyness,confusion,regression on your past decisions.
As soon as you feel comfortable with people and overcome your shyness.look for full time job with much better prospects.
