What If I accidnetly went on grokster because I didnt know what it was and I saw a link to it on another site?

I was on http://www.bluemoon.ee/history/skyroads/... and I saw a link for the home button of blue moon, so I clicked it and saw," The most widely known (and used) Bluemoon development is the FastTrack P2P Stack 鈥?a peer-to-peer communications technology that powers world's leading file sharing applications: Kazaa, Grokster, and iMesh." I thought they were games, so I clicked on the most interesting sounding one, grokster, and when I saw that tracking message, I almost died. Now im worried im going to get in trouble for being curious and clicking on that link.

The text on the Grokster page is just silly.

If they want to chrage You, they got to prove that You have been distributing files that are copyrighted to them or their employers.

This will be kind of hard with the evidence they have :p
They merely logged Your IP - no more no less.
It does not help them that they log Your or my IP. They need a judge to rule that Your provider or mine must give them an address. Else they just know the someone with an IP passed out temporarily by our providers has visited the place.

No US judge would hand out permission to them to get Your address on the charge that You visited a web page.

And do not worry these bullies just want the make You afraid when they say:

Do they assume they own and govern the world?
Sharing copyrighted files is disallowed in many countries but not in all countries. Visiting certain web pages might be forbidden in some countries like Iran - but I know no Western democracy that has similar rules :)

So where do they think that We all live?

The point is that: if You did not use the Grokster client to share and distribute copyrighted material that these ppl or their employers own there will be no problem. You could still use the client to share Linux distributions and other things that these ppl that own the place now have no rights too. The rules are like this in the US and also in all countries that have similar copy right laws as the US.

p. s. The ppl running the place now have quite a cheek to threaten and insult visitors to that come to their place. Obviously they are uninformed or expect all ppl going there to be uninformed. You and I have never shared any files and I feel slandered by these uniformed employees of music industry.

IMHO The ppl that run Grokster now should be sued for their loose tongue. They have the cheek to slander innocent visitors. They charge them with copyright infringement. But these ppl have not been file sharing. And thus they threaten them with unwarranted prosecution.
